RMC100 Servo Simulator

"Today, plant automation production staff can accomplish initial precision testing of control systems even though actual machinery (hydraulic or mechanical systems) are not yet in place, machinery is not yet operational, or when it could be hazardous to test a machine that is malfunctioning," Herb Johanson, application specialist at Delta Computer Systems claimed today.

"Delta's RMC100 Family of products includes our advanced RMC Servo Simulator," the Vancouver, Washington motion control manufacturer spokesman said, "where testing of an entire motion program, including testing position and pressure, can be accomplished while sitting at one's desk.

"Testing your control program before hydraulic and/or mechanical systems are functioning is especially useful and convenient for troubleshooting, maintenance, and field installation," Johanson added.

Full simulation of the position and/or pressure control system parameters include

position/pressure threshold
position/pressure gain/polarity
position/pressure response

Drive null, system gain, and system responses are adjustable thus providing accurate simulation of a variety of systems. When the RMC Servo Simulator is used with Delta's motion controllers, graphing of the simulating motion can be accomplished to provide a powerful demonstration and analysis tool.

In addition, a Bar Graph option is available which displays simulated position and when used with the Pressure Extension (also optional), a pushbutton switch allows displaying of pressure threshold as well.

Other application benefits include: optimizing motion control and position and/or pressure control offline; demonstrating servo control principles; and comparing motion controllers. The RMC Servo Simulator, like the RMC100 Family of motion controllers, is very compact and DIN rail mounted.
